Expectations:

  • Work with 10-15 clients weekly
  • Attend weekly supervision sessions

Meet Nika,

Head of Internship Program at HMC.


Nika brings a wealth of expertise to her role as Head of the Internship Program at Healing Moments Counseling. As a specialist in the treatment of Problematic Sexual Behavior, also known as "sex addiction," and a Couples and Sex Therapist, she provides extensive insights for interns seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in these areas. With years of experience as an Emergency Department clinician, Nika offers invaluable knowledge when it comes to risk evaluation and management, navigating of care systems, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Nika's treatment approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT/EFIT), with a strong attachment emphasis. She also integrates Internal Family Systems theory (IFS) and psychodynamic principles into her work, providing interns with a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic techniques and modalities.

Passionate about fostering a sex-positive and pleasure-affirming environment, Nika approaches therapy from a strength-based perspective. She views her clients and their concerns through a sovereignty-affirming holistic lens, honoring their integrity and worth at every step of the journey.

Committed to providing compassionate and judgment-free care, Nika is Kink, Poly, and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Additionally, her trilingual abilities allow her to provide therapy in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for clients from diverse backgrounds.

Nika's dedication to excellence and her supportive approach make her an invaluable mentor for interns at Healing Moments Counseling.
