FAQ
Do you accept insurance?
Most of our clinicians do not take insurance, but can provide a superbill for out of network services. Michael on our team accepts Premera, LifeWise, and most BCBS insurance
What states can your team see clients?
Washington, Florida, Arkansas, and North Carolina.
Do you offer in-person session?
Some of our clinicians have in person sessions in Kirkland, Bothell, and Stanwood. All of our therapists offer telehealth.
Do you offer sliding scales?
Yes, clinicians have limited sliding scale options, and we do offer low cost therapy when you work with an intern. An intern is someone who is currently training to become a licensed therapist. They are supervised by Nika Gannon a Washington State supervisor. The main difference between therapists and an intern is their experience and knowledge, which is why there is a reduced rate to see them for therapy. Please note, interns cannot provide a superbill. Rates are $60 for a 50 minute session and $80 for an 80 minute session.
I don't know where to start, what do I do?
Email Kayla, our office manager, at Kayla@healingmomentscounseling.net and she will connect you with a therapist who best fits your needs.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples should consider counseling when they find themselves stuck in negative patterns, struggling with communication, or feeling disconnected from each other. It’s beneficial to seek support before problems become overwhelming—therapy can be valuable for strengthening relationships, not just fixing them. Common signs include frequent arguments, intimacy issues, major life transitions, or simply wanting to deepen your connection and understanding of each other.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
Start by having an open, non-accusatory conversation about your concerns and express how much the relationship means to you. Focus on your desire to strengthen your connection rather than fixing problems or assigning blame. If your partner is hesitant, consider starting with individual therapy to work on your own growth, which often positively impacts the relationship. Many reluctant partners become more open to couples work once they see the benefits and understand that therapy is about building together, not taking sides.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
Come with an open mind and a willingness to be vulnerable with both your partner and therapist. It’s helpful to think about your relationship goals and what you hope to achieve together, rather than focusing solely on complaints or problems. Be prepared to examine your own patterns and contributions to relationship dynamics, not just your partner’s behavior. Most importantly, approach the process with patience—meaningful change takes time, and progress often happens gradually.
What kind of therapy is best for couples?
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is highly effective for couples, as it helps partners understand and reshape the emotional patterns that drive conflict and disconnection. The best approach depends on your specific needs, relationship dynamics, and goals as a couple. Our attachment-focused therapists tailor their methods to what works best for each unique partnership. During your initial consultation, we’ll discuss your situation and recommend the therapeutic approach that’s most likely to help you build the connection and understanding you’re seeking.
